What's the heaviest thing you've ever pulled?

myself and gibbo phil joined up and pulled a fire engine (well 2 actually) up a steep slope a couple of years ago oh and an ambulance as they attended a shout and got stuck.

I also pulled up an arctiv loaded with drinks bottles and drink he reversed down by my work and I dragged him up th edriver was like no mate this weighs tons! but was willing to try detroit locker worked a treat burnts through th esnow and gripped pullec the fecker out tho!

So reverse is the weakest gear, 4th is the strongest, presumably 1 is second weakest and it goes up from there...

So low range 3rd is much stronger than high range 1st?

Shame I have an auto... lol

4th is the strongest as there is no layshaft just direct drive in from clutch through to the output shaft-into the tranny box

ah, ok... so in that case, 1st - 3rd are equally as strong/weak?

And in an auto box, this all means nothing because it's a completely different design of course!

Presumably, all gears are equal strength in an auto box because everything's engaged at all times?

Just don't pull heavy things in reverse and you will be all right.
Never snatch the gears because you could still brake some thing.
:)
