Yes,thats a good way to do it.Make sure you scrape all the loose rust off,it will take you a while but once done and you waxoil it every year it will last a good while. Many threads on this subject already and many different opinions.
Personally I stripped mine back to bare metal, 2 thick coats of Hammerite then 2 coats of waxoyl over the top. Renew waxoyl annually.
Make sure you get plenty of paint/waxoyl/whatever inside your chassis as well

when people refer to waxoyl do they mean shuts or the clear waxoyl ? and whats the best way to apply it spray or brush on
Was going to ask about dinatrol, looks a bit better than waxoyl, does it work better
I'm doing mine in the near future, I'd like to just hameright it but I think waxoyl ads protection from stone chips so I'm thinking clear maybe beter because that way you can actually see if any new rust apears
Ok thanks, if given a good full coverage of hammeright what's the benefit of then applying waxoyl? Cheers
Thanks
Suppose it saves me a job! Il just apply it on the inside of the chassis
Anyone used frost por 15 chassis paint, and how much do you need for a disco chassis?
