i have been offered a 1988 110 csw v8 that has been parked in a farmyard for six months. The mot has recently expired and the ex farm worker has to get rid. The car was used daily until the owner went a bit skint and bought a diesel peugeot.
I havent tried starting it but am assured it runs well.
It has been lifted a bit, has tree sliders along the sills , a huge roofrack and ladder, it is in reasonable condition body wise with a bit of corrosion in the usual places.
He asked me £500 but that would be the price if all his dreams came true.
What do you think its really worth, i am going to try £200 to start but dont really know its value.

I could do with a few pointers as ive never had a defender, the last land rover i had was an old rangie, i have a mitsubishi at the moment but want a landy, i just dont want to be shafted by a country boy that knows a bit more than hes letting on.

tbh id probably buy the biggest bag of **** that would cost me £1000's to put right, Try asking on here if anyone lives near you who could maybe go and have a look theres plenty of folk who know their fenders i aint one of em :)

Have a look on ebay. You can't buy any sort of 90/110 for 500 quid, even a proper wreck. Buy it, have a proper look at it, then if it's too much for you stick it on ebay as it is and you'll make a profit. Alternatively if you don't want it let someone here have a go at it.

Finally got this car at the weekend, towed it home and put it in for a mot to see what problems came with it and it PASSED!
It takes ages to warm up enough to put in the choke and misfires a bit,i put new plugs in but it makes no difference.
Where do i look next as im clueless about petrol cars, i was thinking about distributor cap and condenser to check next.
When i find my camera ill get some pics, im well chuffed.
