What's it for

I noticed this small tube that comes from the air box to a valve, it sits under the wheel chock, in the engine bay
What's it for, as the rubber elbow is broken.
Do I need it and where can I get a new elbow from.

Thanks for that,yes it's a 300 TDI,
At least I know what to look for now, is it wise to have it fitted?

Maybe only for MOT not for the ''health" of the engine

I've looked into blanking the EGR, but this gets mixed reviews.
Some say it's a great mod, some say otherwise.

Done mine many years ago noticed only slight gain what did make a difference was removing the dpf a lot more responsive tho think only makes a difference if it clogged up if you do remove any of these keep the parts removed just incase it's picked up on a mot.

I didn't think the D1 had a DPF ?

I think it's more commonly referred to as a diesel cat,dfp or exhaust thingy.
