Any pics? i like the facelift lights but not keen on the bumper, didnt know you could just change the lights.

Best things, does everything a Fender can and comfortably.
early ones are a doddle to fix and so little really changed over the first 10 yrs that there are an abundance of affordable spares and good supplies of toys to suit them all.
Not to mention that a similar aged Fender is likely 3x the price and needs just as much, if not more work.
Most folk find the body shell the biggest turn off for the rust but forget that Defenders rust too
Find a decent one and spend a few pound on getting it in shape and jobs a good un

Yeh but by the time the bulkhead, footwells and door frames have the body fizzles away anyhow..To be fair Fender body shells don't rust

Space, driving position, comfort, effortless towing ability, ruggedness, ease of maintenance, looks, road presence etc etc - I love mine (most of the time). Cant think of a car I could replace my D2 with which would blend the same characteristics yet be as affordable and simple to maintain. Would still love a Defender but I think that would entail compromises.
