Hi all
I hope some one can help with this, I have a defender that has a range rover classic rear axle fitted to get disks all round I assume, now I need to replace seals bearings etc I need to know how to tell what year it is, the locking washers have a flat rather than a tab and there is a spacer with a seal in also with a flat, there is also a seal for the stub axle and a similar seal in the front behind the spacer.
Also it looks as if the calipers have been replaced but the pads don't seem a correct fit they are jamming on one side on both wheels.
Any thoughts most welcome as I can't I.D it from part catalogs.
Eric:confused:

bearings are rtc3429 inner seal ftc4785 and outer seal frc8222, are pads held by solid pin with 2 eyes on each pad or split pins with a center tab on each pad

D shaped lock washer started in 92 tab washer prior

Thanks for that it should help a lot.
As for the pads they are at present held in with split pins over springs, but I can't see what is supposed to stop the pads going through apart from them being slightly wider at the top. My feeling is they are not correct for the calipers and the calipers are not correct for the axle but I don't have enough experience with RR to know
