I'm finishing off the refitting of bits to the 90 this weekend, but I'm not sure what to do with the chequerplate. The paint on all the bits is starting to peel which'll look ****e with me noo paint job on the 90. I do use the chequerplate on the bonnet and wing tops to stand on so I'm after a durable finish.

All the bits are currently sat in the garage with nitromors spread all over the remaining paint, but I don't want to leave them bare alloy. Is there some sort of black paint that is durable and preferably a grippy matt finish? Not really fussed on a slippy smooth gloss finish if possible.

Cheers

I had mine sand blasted then I resprayed it all in satin black. It seems quite good its on my side steps chequerplate too and hasn't warn. I'm always in and out of it aswell. Got pics on my profile if you want to have a look. Doesn't look too shiny either it looks ok :)

Looking at them before they came off I doubt they were etch primered when new, hence why all the paint is peeling. Will get some etch primer to start with then.

Halfords truck bed paint sounds like what I need, will swing by there tomorrow.

Cheers!

Yup, etch primed mine with upol then Truck bed painted.... All from halfords.
In all honesty, the bed paint is good, grippy and does what it says, but Due to its rubbery nature can be scratched off with a fingernail if you try. Seems to last better against footfall. Can do pics if necessary. Just done sills myself.
