What to look for buying a Discovery 1

Hi there, Im new to the 4x4 scene, Been contemplating getting rid of Zafira and getting a Discovery tdi (Mite even do a swap).

Any way i would be greatful if any of you guys could point me in the rite direction of what to look for and what to steer clear from?

I know bout the norm floor pans and sills ans of course the chassis.

Do you know what disco you would like 200 300 TD5? as each has specific traits

Won't be a TD5 if it's a Discovery 1.

to the OP do a search this subject has been covered more times than Jordans dropped her knickers.
 
Not a million miles away mate im south manchester, i got a 1995 Disco 300tdi for sale i'll let it go for £1600 if you're interested, its had a ridiculous amount of work done over the last 18months inc, BRAND NEW cylinder head, new radiator, new swivel balls and bearings, new sills, new boot floor and side bits next to the boot floor, new rear wheel arch bits where you open the rear doors, all belts done, 2 inch lift fitted (never been off road), NEW BFGoodrich 245/75/16 All Terrain tyres on Wellar Wheels, interior is pretty much mint apart from bit of paint on the back carpet (which hides under a mat) and a bit of dash curl (common) seats have been covered most of their life so are great, twin sunroofs dont leak! no oil leaks at all! slight dent on passenger wing nothin major) its done 112,000miles and got 12mnths MOT, its far too good for what i need, if you're interested let me know, cheers
