Freelander 2 (LR2) What should I look for?

Oh I do hope this is correct, I can just see the them listed as "of historic British heritage" and the government via the National trust pay us to use them so others can see them.
Can this be extended to other Land Rovers or is it just Freelander 1 & 2?
Only the Freelander 1 and 2. The others will be eaten alive by rust worm. ;)

You know I have come across the worm previously.
When I was an apprentice I was shown a large iron casting and told that the holes (porosity) was down to metal worm and I needed to keep looking at the holes and when they pop up hit them with a hammer.
I dont know who was kidding who, them for saying it was metal worm or me for knowing it is really the Larva of the metal worm that causes the holes.

Hippo what bolt is it will I have to change my one? What sort of time to change and what cost?
I scratched one of the wishbone bolts on the roof of a tratter when I drove over it at the Freelander 20th celebration at Gaydon motor museum. ;)

Oh that's OK then, I bet that sealed the sun roof on the tratter. What was the tratter doing at the Freelander 20th celebration anyhow?

We burnt a tratter on the camp fire at the end. Sacrifice to the lr gods. Earlier in the day we had a parade of Freelanders with the option to jump a tratter as part of the route.

That sounds fun.
I bet you had to dry it out before it would burn.

Usual rust worm holes int floor allows it to drain out like a colander. The seats are like ole park benches so there's no material on them
What was left after the burn? anything useful? other than the obvious more space to park a Freelander in.

Surprisingly most of the metalwork was still there. The fire din't get that hot. There were several oles int chassis but this may be due to patching it with a Weetabix box.

P38's are less rust-prone than many others of the marque I think.
At least, that's what my perception is. I could very-well be wrong; often am.

One of the many idea's copied from the Freelander development team by the pegasus development team. ;)

Freelander's cannot rust. Their chassis are made from recycled egg-boxes, they just go soggy and collapse after a short while. ;)

Our fantastic Freelander's are unibody. Tis a method of constructing a vehicle with the chassis rails built into the monocoupe body work. So we has the best of both worlds.

And the doors dun't fall oft.

Don't you get a little bit jealous because if you were in a Defender you would have had the carpets freshened up at the same time no extra cost. Drying them would be a little difficult with no heater but you would soon sort that come the summer.

Nope. I have got a pig but he doesn't cr*p in ma hippo. He's very respectful of it. Tratter pigs cr*p in their tratters to fend oft the smell of the owner.
