What should i get next?

I currently have a 95 300tdi that im restoring back to it's former glory but i really do miss driving a disco!!

what do you guys think i should get while she's being restored?

was thinking maybe a V8 D1/2 or td5 but not sure.. i've got about 3K to spend at the moment.

any input on pro's cons would be greatly appreciated!

PS: i could also go for another 300 but it's have to be an ES this time lol

How many miles do you do? Can you afford to run a V8 at 15-18mpg?

I do 25k/yr and the V8 would kill me. But it would sound fantastic!

I don't do very many miles at all! 5 - 6 K maybe 7 at a real push!

would love a V8 but never had to deal with a petrol.
if that's the case what's the difference between the 3.9 and 4.0 (apart form 0.1 lol)
and is it worth looking for something with LPG?

Same engine, slightly different design and engine management, both the same CC and slight torque increase.

LPG yes I suppose, only if you can't afford to run with petrol as LR intended :lol:

I have driven V8 D1 and TD5 D2, and the TD5 is a nice engine for a Diesel.

Good LPG kits (eg Prins) hold their value on the V8s

Anything i should look out for engine wise?

i know to check everything between the front and rear number plates on a D1 lol
is it the same on a D2?

Yes, but especially the chassis from the back wheels back.
