As the title says what setting is your synergy set on. Also what results do you gain from that setting.

Pierberg MAF, EGR bypass, BMW crankcase breather mod, silicone intercooler hoses, all fitted last week after all filters and oil change.
06 TD4 Sport Auto thats now the car it should have been, even overtook something going uphill today!...... tempted to try setting 8 tomorrow!
 
To answer your question a bit more seriously, I have ended up with the Synergy2 set on number 8 - which is high torque and medium power.

If you have the dash switch then you can select the centre off position to find what the performance is without any of RoverRon's wizardry.

With position 8 I get a fantastic thrust of acceleration from 1250rpm upwards, I can overtake in greater safety, and it holds speed on uphills without needing to change down a gear as before. There is a willingness to rev beyond 3000 which was not there before.

Position 9 does not give me the same pull from low speed, and with position 10 I have to be light-footed with the pedal otherwise I get jerky changes with the auto-box which is normally pretty smooth.

The dash switch not only lets me select 'off' but more importantly has an ECO setting which I use for motorways and dual-carriageways.

Position 8 is for the fun twisty bits and overtaking at (almost) every opportunity.

Fuel consumption never falls below 37mpg and can be 43 on motorways at legal speeds. I have had as much as 45mpg on long journeys crossing Germany when it was never out of top gear and cruising at 80 - 85mpg on the autobahnen.

Conclusion - everyone should get a Synergy - fitting it is the single best thing I've done to my Freelander.

43mpg in a auto sounds amazing lucky to get 30mpg on my td4 auto. what mpg were you getting before you fitted the synergy.
 
This poll is pointless unless the title was to specify exactly which version of synergy module.......the settings are model/version dependant, as well as Maf dependant assuming that it's for Td4s....

About 4 or 5 less than what I get now.

I was very surprised too. Non of the other mods made such a big difference to mpg - they made it more responsive though.

Having said that, I wouldn't fit a Synergy without doing the other bits at the same time, of course.
 
setting 5 for me 2004 manual good power good torque better all round .
i do drive most of the time on the eco setting as it is synergy2a+ with dash switch
still get better power and torque than standard car

When in eco mode dose this mean the synergy is switched off and car engine running as standard??

When you manage to do a timed run with the dash-switch in the middle (no-LEDs on) position, could you be a good researcher / tester and do another one with not only the switch in the middle, but with the power switch on the box itself off?

It should give you a complete set of results for comparison, from standard to maximum.

That would be most informative.

Your choice of 30 to 60mph in 4th gear is a good one to use - we don't need any unrealistic situation Jeremy Clarkson 0 to 60 nonsense.

i did fill up today and iv been using full setting 5 and eco with a heavy right foot all week and it returned 31.4mpg i was getting this driving like mrs daisy with out synergy box lol so ill try driving normaly now and see what happens

Mine's set to 7 and I have the Pierbergh MAF and EGR bypass, fitting the BMW crankcase mod this weekend.

Had it on 8 but was a bit smoky when accelerating. A factor there might have been a loose pipe on the EGR which wasn't noticeable around town but at motorways speeds or on a hill there was a noticeable lack of power. Just waiting on my silicone hoses and then a better clamp will be going on.
 
Synergy 2a with Eco switch and Pierburg MAF. Overnight trip to Gatwick set on 6 and Eco position, averaged 34 mpg at average speed of 75 mph. Will see what I get on return on Saturday when holiday traffic slows me down.

No smoke normally - but it's smoking on overtaking this week as I succombed to Tescos offer of 50p/litre off if you buy certain toilet-paper, cat food etc.

For 50p off I can give up Shell V-Power for a week or so.

Offer is still on by the way - get it while it lasts - stock up on toilet-paper - I'm sure it'll come in handy in the future. :rolleyes:
