I'll start a new thread as no one answered the question on my thread regarding the waxoyl. Anyway I need to remove the plastic trim on the underside of the car (series 1) because I'm having it waxoyled this coming Saturday. I have been under it tonight with a couple of screwdrivers but none fitted. What's the correct driver I need please or any other advice getting them off. Hopefully the waxoyl guy will remove them. Thanks in advance

If your normal screwdrivers are no good, are they Torx head or something? I have a set of screwdriver 'bits' that has every head imaginable in there - it hasn't failed me yet.

Last car I had to remove plastic trim from the underside, I used 2p pieces .. they were quarter turn fasteners, not screws!

I use a sharp self tapping screw, screwed into the top where the screwdriver cross is. This can then be pulled on with pliers. I generally replace all scrivits to make subsequent removal easy. However if the trim is never likely to be removed again, I only replace non-seviceable scrivits.

I plan to clean, treat rust, paint and refit my sill protection plastic bits, because I think it looks better with it fitted. It'll also help should the sill touch the ground while off road.

Pliers, they are plastic plugs with grip threads, I get under the heads with right angle internal circlip pliers
You sure. I thought I see screw heads as well as plastic rivets although I can't be sure. I'll have another look tomorrow. Is it still worth taking them off prior to waxoyl treatment?
