What is recommended oil for 3.0'TD6 diesel
5w or 10w/40
5w or 10w/40
Basically all moderner cars are 5/30 anything old is 10/40 as a rule of thumb
I would never run 5w30 unless living in the artic. 10w40 summer= better cooling as it carry away heat better to the oil cooler and 10w 30 winter.got 300k on 1 engine petrol and 200k on a diesel and never did a thing to them other than 6k between oil changes. Some times that was every 6 weeks. fuel filter once a year and air filter once a year that is it. I really laugh at how you all have hgf and cooling issue with you cars. just un real.
Well thats what I've always been told/dime at garage i work at. And thats pretty much what it says in the carlube book
look at post #6 is it -14 in the uk? at this time of year
5/30 is -30 to 35 so well within temp ranges we get in the uk, never above or below that?
5W40 covers all eventuallities winter or summer for most of Europe.
5w40 is recomended so must also be C1 spec.5W-30 remember your 3.0L has a DpF and the it must be a C1 spec, this means low ash and helps the DpF not clog up to fast.
TD6 doesn't have a DPF.5W-30 remember your 3.0L has a DpF and the it must be a C1 spec, this means low ash and helps the DpF not clog up to fast.
Download RAVE, comes with the owners handbook. Thanks guys. No I have to get a handbook one didn't come with the car. Otherwise I could have looked in it.
