It’s a diesel so engine is spot on.
Well...spot on ish.
@Lukas018 2cylinders missing was a laconic reference to Henry’s love of V8s. Can’t say I wouldn’t mind the challenge of a 4.0 think they go on an r380.

Situation is -
MOT due mid Oct so tried to claim for smashed windscreen...since I’ve been locked down for months Ive let my insurance run out
Is too late to renew that policy of £480 - they now want £900 to insure :mad:

So windscreen and also a hard srs fault I have been unable to identify without diagnostics
don’t see how I can get a £300 screen + fitted + £40MOT + £265 tax and insured (£1500!) by Oct.
That’s 300% what I payed for the vehicle

Don’t have yard in my new home but I have stuck it in garden once before, possible I could sorn it but then have an un-mot able untaxable 3T ornament

I have me, the dog, and my P38.
I love it to bits and would be very very sad to let it go but my vision is narrowing ; if I have to choose of the 3 :(
Maybe let's look at it another way:
Insurance : Not sure of your age or location but £900 is taking the p. Go on a comparison site, and look for best price. Upping your voluntary excess might help , a little. Low mileage also helps. Pm me if you're not good with that sort of thing, cos I am
Windscreen: Temporary fix, until October, and then either claim on insurance , or see if fix gets it through.
Cost of veh v insurance: Could you buy a vehicle of the calibre for the cost of insurance? Doubt it. So let's get you sorted on insurance and you keep driving a Range Rover, instead of a Ford Focus ;)
Hard SRS fault: there will be someone on here who can help. Again, location is needed , to know who is near.

That is enough blue sky thinking from me for one day. So drop me a pm i I can help :D

Admiral was my insurance right expensive look else where you will get cheaper
They are robbing c#nuts ,renewed my policy without asking so I phoned and demanded my money back because I found a cheaper policy. They refunded the money then I got a threatening letter from them saying that they didn't actually take the money so if I didn't refund them within a week they would take legal action. Ieplied that I would have to check with my bank that a the money wasn't actually taken in the first case and b the refund went into my account. This could take at least 5 working day's, as soon as the situation was clear I would willingly send them a cheque. Nice to be in the driving seat for a change.;):D:D Two weekend 's and the postage time csme to about12 days .

Dont know wots wrong with windscreen but the repair they can do now is pretty good
No guarantee that garages will be doing MOT in October

I suspect his SRS fault is like mine and a bad connection. Problem is that it won't go out even when fixed without Nanocom to clear it.

It's been years since I've had to go to South Wales otherwise I would detour for a look. LZIR map?

Cannot get insurance without MoT certificate. Insurance should be around the £300 mark unless you've lost all no claims discount. There's a special tool to get bonded windscreens out but it generally cracks using it.

Pretty sure my insurance is only valid with a current MoT. They certainly checked it when I renewed. I guess they will insure SORNed vehicles though and probably cheaper.

LVE were cheapest last time I looked.
Your car has to be insured for the drive down to the test.

Take the cheapest comparison insurance you can find.. accept whatever excess they want and more just so you can get it through.(at worse if you dent it you will just have to pay for your own fixes, or scrap it.( Just don't DENT IT)).. Get an insurance that includes windscreen cover and claim later. COME ON GUYS.. we've almost grown up with this guy's truck, surely someone has a nanocom nearby that can sort out the SRS.. Time to step up boys..!

I'd bloody post him mine if it comes to that.

I know someone on Anglesey with a nanocom if that's not too far.
I would have to ask him first but if it's close it's worth a shot.
If it wasn't for travel being a pita at the moment, I go to North Wales quite often but I'll be tied up with work for the next 6 weeks.

I can only offer a pair of hands and spanners..3 hour drive for me but a P38 in need and all that sort of thing..
