Help needed to identify model and what year this door lock is from, as I need to replace the barrels. I see 3 problems at present. What lock? What barrels do I need? And how do I change them when I don't have a key?

what are they from? I'm confused by the bar going off the lock...

I have some lock barrels for non-anti-burst locks in the shed not doing anything, however, i'm fairly sure you'll need a key to remove the old barrels.

My guess is a rear door lock, possibly one that's come from a defender, then fitted to a series, I only say defender because I assume that the big bar is part of the central locking

Thanks for coming chaps.
I am told the doors are defender and the bar connects to the front internal door handle. The problem I have is the only defender locks I seem to be able to find refer to push button handles rather than external lift. Anti burst wont fit as defender doors have drop windows. Any thoughts?

I think the doors will fit exactly the same, the hinges look differnt, but it's basically irrelevant because the location of the holes is the same:)

Alternatively. Do series 3 doors fit a 2a which is what I have?

Yes Series 3 and Series 2a doors are interchangable, as mentioned the only difference is the hinges and also the window mechanism lock (very minor point)

You can fit defender anti-burst locks to a series door (see the How To section for my guide) which is reasonably straight forward and adds a bit more security (well, at least the doors don't fly open of their own accord anymore :p)

What year defender are they off as just changed the lock barrel on a 1991 defender and they where standard anti burst lock barrels fitted into plastic insert in the handle. Rear was anti burst type that also fits series and did not look like those pics ie the lock barrel protruded and to change lock part you had to push pin in hole in the side whilst key in turned to 11am position.
PS cannot be certain doors on this defender are original
