Thanks for you're fast replays Gents.

Had a glance under neath front chassi is rotten here'd you can fabricated plates that you weld over the top are they any good..?

Rattlegun I shall check tomorrow it looks worse than is its mechanically sound had new injectors other bits and bobs. Is there any thing to look out for/must do Mods..? New to Landys been building MK1 escorts for years.

Thanks Dan.

A good start is to pressure wash underside and have a good look at the chassis. Then have another good look at the chassis. Once you know what work is ahead change all the fluids.
You will need plenty EP90 for transmission and swivels, 11 pints of 20/50 for the engine.
When you have done all that drive it and make a list of what you find to sort out. The list will grow by the day but most of all enjoy it, ladies are a hoot to drive.

Wee Freudian slip there?

Anyway, it looks like a Series 3, but could always be a later Series 2a with a Series 3 grille, or even an earlier 2 or 2a with a later front end - they're not unusual! If it's a 2 or 2a, it won't have a plastic dashboard. Or any real dashboard, for that matter!

Possibly but it's gotta 3 bulkhead by the look of the bonnet hinges. Door hinges are 3 but that doesn't mean much.

Yeah there's a heap of things to look for but your on it with the rusy chassis. Check the bulkhead over as well as the brake lines and front rad panel. They can all rust.

My S3 had loads of minor issues which took forever to sort. I reckon most of the problems you could fix as you go and get through MOTs/live with whilst you do them. I see your in Bridgend which isn't far. I'm only in Swansea so give us a shout if you need a hand doing anything major (although i have replaced my series with more rust from Birmingham i.e. an RRC:Cry:)

Thanks ronsealdeath not to far at all down Swansea working at the minute Uplands RFC my first weekend on it this week end so will lots of questions over the next few days. Thanks Gents.

haha I live about 2 mins from Uplands RFC. Good luck getting her sorted. Oh yeah, don't put ep90 in your swivels, it will most likely end up all over the drive :D Get some swivel grease from a web supplier of landy parts
