What land rover

Hello
I'm new to the forum and have joined because i have the chance of having a land rover.

This might sound very strange but a friend of the family offered me her vehicle, but having no cash at the time I did not even look at it as it was out of my price range. Now my mum (God bless her) has offered to buy it for me.

The car is green, and has a decal of a compass on the side. Unfortunately i cannot contact teh seller for two weeks as she is in Cyprus.

Any idea on the model?

its an early discovery, what engine is in it, diesel or petrol, how many doors does it have, 2 or 4, what reg is it, and how much is it

The car is 2 grand. I know nothing else. When were these first manufactured?

before you part with 2 grand, you want to know a bit more about it, they were first manufactured in 89/90 on a Greg, the first ones were only 3 door, then they introduced a 5 door in 91, so then you had the choice of 3/5 door. the compass sticker was phased out in 93/94 so it could basically be any age from 89-94. if you are paying 2 grand then you want it to be a later one, early ones can be picked up for anything from £800. if is a diesel you need to know when the cambelt was last changed and how often it was serviced. i would want a lot more info before i parted with my hard earned. let us know how you get on

if you want to part with 2 grand, i am selling my 1991 200tdi discovery with an upgraded front end for that very ammount and it is in good condition, see the photo's in my gallery
