It isn't big or clever, but I just worked out the 63 damp 7N blocks I had in the back of the hi-cap yesterday tot up to around 1110kgs - them plus a few bags of logs...!

1 ton (40 bags of potatoes )regulary in an 88 in the 70s and 80s , 70 ish slabs for the patio in a lightweight dont know what weight was but was on the bump stops at 30 so put the rest in

Carefully stacked bricks in the back of the 110 van stacked up to about 9 inches above the bulkhead right the way to the back door plus on the passenger seat / footwell.

Had to replace the wheel bearings shortly after

Lol! 70 slabs must weigh a fair bit!

does 400 red bricks in the back of a multipla win this competition? i did think i was gonna die

Nope - you can't play this game if it doesn't wear an LR badge! :p

Were they engineering bricks or solid ones?

6.5 something bricks to a block, so effectively you had less volume - not that you're allowed to play this game of course!

This was a good load of soil and see is sitting lower here than with the blocks yesterday

Yikes - that would have been heavy!!

Now were they solid old fashioned bricks or light (ish) engineering ones?

I put 2t of quarry dust in my 109 pick up. Talk about power steering, lol. Came to the first corner and I near had an even bigger load on the drivers seat, I don't think the springs ever went back up the rite way,

2 ton!

I drive like a granny with big loads on the bed - you just can't take anything for granted!

What do you think the chassis (no rot!) would take before it failed some where?
