What is Overfinch? Overdone, overpriced, over ???

Until I got my Rangie I was pretty much unaware of the marque Overfinch. Now I have a RR I'm not sure I can be bothered to be impressed by someones messing about with a motor I love already. Should I worry about my lack of concern? Does it betray my lack of education and breeding? Am I failing to be ambitious? I really don't know but I'd be grateful if someone could point out my failings. I'm petrified of meeting other Rangie owners and not knowing how to react or even involve myself in a discussion which could begin 'Hi, have you been Overfinched?' or 'The new Overfinch Witchy-Woo now comes in marble - are you going to get one?" So if you meet a black L322 owner (that's the car) and he doesn't speak or acknowledge you, it's probably me ashamed of my ignorance. Sorry in advance.
 
There's a reason such people are said by 'Landrover people' to actually drive an Under-Pigeon ... ;)

Personally, I see nothing wrong with Overfinch, Freelanders, whatever, they're all Landrover, even the Evoque and Velar, no matter what the rivet counters say.
 
As far as i can tell, they make your range rover or new disco look like it's owned by a russian coke dealer.

Very pricey, do they do anything to the performance/reliability/general quality other than luxury items?
 
P38 one has bigger calipers same as the armoured model. The extra stopping power is nice but seem to think pads were very hard to get hold of last time I changed some and bet that was five years ago.
 
Overfinch were responsible for some Crazy ass RR's

5.7 v8 and 6.3 v8 were the most common and well known additions badged 570i and 630R
The RRC had the option in the Mid nighties to have the 460i which had a mildly modified 4.6 from a p38.
238hp over the original 225hp.

they were often paired with Gm derived transmissions 700r4 for ex.


They often added Special interior pieces, at customers request

custom suspension

Big brakes

Body kits

etc etc

You stick with what you've got Colin ,hope you'll speak to me if I get around to buying my black one, car that is roll on September when I can drive again.:D

When you are ready Alan you can test this one of mine. It is the best thing I have ever driven - feel as though I can just sit back and let it go: it takes bends better than me! Hoping to get it back this week.
 
Funny how with Overfinch and various other makes of vehicles special editions that when new are seen at the sort of slightly chavvy bling end of the spectrum eventually become the most sought after among upmarket collectors who wouldn't have dreamt of owning one originally. Although has to be the right one as I can't see anyone paying top dollar for an old Kahn conversion over a factory spec.

Not really, Under-Pigeon is when someone bolts on tack to their RR in the hopes of making it look more upmarket than it really is.

Overfinch have let themselves go in recent years, as chrome and chince is seen as a bigger market to them than quality subtle luxury upgrades. But they are still seen as a prestigious upfitter. Do they count as coach builders anymore?

The RRC from factory was never fitted with the 4.6 V8, it was only fitted in the P38......... So a 4.6 238BHP Overfinch RRC I would imagine would be quite some machine....( In a straight line !!)
