After taking my doors off today to do some maintinance, it struck me just how littile there is holding the roof up on my 110 sw; the pilar between the doors and the windscreen frame are not very structual :eek: .

I do a fair bit of off road where rolling is a real possibility (its suprising i havnt rolled already), so my question is this;

Am i gona die when it rolls over? :confused: Roll cages are seriously pricey...

well, just think about this.
all that will be between u and the ground is sheet aluminium. to be honest if ur worried about rolling ur vehicle, then deffo invest in a cage.
 
generally, it feels worse than it ACTUALLY is. If you do decide to go the cage rage route then i can (so far) recommend Whitbread offroad: Whitbread Off-Road | Roll Cage and Spaceframe specialists

the prices of their fitted cages are loads cheaper than elsewhere although they are a little far from you. they do flat pack cages which you can get welded onto your motor if you have a garage capable.

Im having a full external fitted to my 90 this Friday. If you have specific requirements, give Malcolm a ring and discuss it with him. So far i have mounts for the roof tent, half roof rack, modified front hoop to allow the sunny to open :D snorkel mount and tabs for awning rail. Also discussing a welded rear half ladder.

A lot of injuries are caused by things flying about in the cab. How many peoples cubby boxes are actually secured to anything? Locked shut? Have you got a camping knife or machete behind a seat? Crowbar?

I try to make sure all my recovery kit is in the box in the load bay, behind a dog guard...................me cubby box int fixed down tho' cuz of needing to lift it every time I check me overdrive oil level..............so I'm getting at least headache if I roll it!
 
oooo... machete behind seat :) opps! will have to secure that to the dog guard, cheers grippa. cubby box is secure and locked, yes sir :D

dog guards/load guards are a good idea of seperating the cab from load area.

Yea flying stuff in the cab.... i built my own cubby box and whilst i bolted to down, the 6mm ply the base is made from snapped. On a particualy bumpy sandy area (some speed was involved) my cubby box jumped out of place, hit the rear bence row, bounced up hiting the door, then came to rest wedged between the bench row and the back of my drivers seat. In genrall I try to keep heavy metalic things (shovel, high lift, axe ect.) straped down securly under the bench row.
 
Grippa s right i took a roll at 30-40mph no probs , it was the towbar loose in the back of the motor that neally killed me.

and after doing some real damage to my neck in another atempt to kill my self I would,nt even think of offroading without at least a roll bar.
