What have you done to your Landie today.

Today it was the turn of the front prop. It came off pretty easily, except for one nut at theTB end. These are captive in my car, so I fitted new nuts, but left the bolts in place. Of course, the nut that came off with difficulty went back on with difficulty, even if now new. Got there in the end, though. Both props are all greased up and clean and newish.
 
Today I took my teenager for her MOT!
Ended up better than expected, just needed a new track rod end on nearside and a top mount bush on rear nearside suspension. Only one advisory, limited adjustment left on handbrake lever.
 
sent mine off to have tracker and super pro poly bushes fitted all around (m8 is doing it as he is a mechanic and he is getting a very very stiff drink) and two old fashioned steps put on
oh and purchased a pedal lock from overlanders the green one
 
Not much done on the Land Rover lately as it is behaving itself. I replaced a screw on the fire extinguisher bracket which had come loose and filled up the windscreen washer tank. That's about all it needed.

Today I had some fun !

Went shooting as is my norm on a Sunday morning and took the Landy as I usually do. Place is on a farm, mud everywhere so guns and boots in the back and off across the mud we go. On the way home decided to go for a drive 'because I could' and came across a road sign saying 'flood' after the rain over the last 72 or so hours. And there was :D so through it I went, at speed, water over the roof, laughing my nuts off and had so much fun went back twice more :D not so sure the Mini on the outside of me had as much fun though :p :D :D :D

Two years after rebuild and a couple, no three, no advisory mot's l came out this morning to a flat offside front tyre : (
 
I've smartened the front end up a bit. I've replaced the number plate which had a chip out of the bottom and given it a new grille and headlamp surrounds. The old ones had started out black but were getting greyer and greyer despite my anointing them with ungents and emollients like
Back to Black, cooking oil, peanut butter, Autoglym and the like. Given that they're fairly cheap to replace, new grille and headlamp finishers probably cost less than all the products I've wasted on the old ones. I'd post a picture but it's got dark now.

I've found a spray WD40 works a treat
 
Mine's away having a new power steering pump, steering damper & wheel bearings fitted (too cold to be messing about myself so paying someone else) and also sorting one of the leaks that's hacked me off (the steering pump will solve another one that's REALLY getting my goat).

Collect tomorrow :)
 
Motored over to Wales this morning:

I'll be doing some gardening and mixing a bit more cement this weekend, so all you cement mixing enthusiasts can watch my cement mixing thread growing over the next few days.
 
Fitted a new center and tail pipe exhaust. I was going to go stainless steel but £50 v £380. I decided to go with the cheaper option.
Greased the prop shafts. I was going to check the other fluid levels but decided that was enough for one day.
 
Yesterday I changed my gearbox, transfer and diff oils. New transfer inspection plate gasket plus thread locked the bolts. Fitted a FPR repair kit so no more leaky diesel. Greased all my nipples. Cut out some of the air box pipe to increase air flow. Did some more soundproofing. Stuck this sticker on :)
