Ordered a few bits for it yesterday, and stripped the interior today. Going to hose pipe the inside out i think, try and get rid of some of the dust inside it! Bloody everywhere :rolleyes:
 
finally made progress!! charged the battery and started the disco after not looking at it for 3 weeks!! re-bolted the wing on thats been hanging off since my 1st ever laning session last year!! now ready to strip the front hubs down again, sort the leak and fix the abs ready for an MOT next week.

i WILL be out in it soon!!
 
Spent whole day putting new springs on front of my series 3 and having nice seized shackle pins that didn't want to move.
 
dragged a car transporter 200+miles to pick up a mates challenge landie yesterday (weds)

when arrived noticed a lot of oil specs on the A frame of the trailer :mad: had a new prop flange oil seal fitted couple of weeks back (warranty from stealers) was piissin out of said seal :mad:
got under it today and checked oil level was over filled by this much

chassis was'nt so bad shame my mate did'nt look a bit harder at it though :D
the whole front end is warn out , turn the wheel and the axle and body move in oposite directions (paniard arm has about an inch of play).
we think the head gaskets gone and the roll cage needs a few days grinding and rewelding to do.
but on the whole cant grumble for 1.5k seing as he has all the bits needed kicking about the yard (apart from maybe the pollybush kit):rolleyes:

i have just replaced the turbo and manerfold gaskets on my 90 2.5td all was going so well untill i snaped a bolt on the manerfold:mad: what an ass i then had to spend the rest of the day drilling and removeing the bloody thing finaly put it all back together and rembered after i had done all the bolts up that i had baught a new turbo to inlet hose and forgot to fit it so all off again:mad: just to put a darn pice of rubber on it lol
oh the joys of having a fender lol:)
 
Finally fitted a cylinder head to my 2.5NA. Got it from along way away cleaned it, rebuilt it etc, put all the other bits back on the engine last bit fitting fuel injectors and managed to break the fuel line union on the injector at the fan end of engine. Sooooooooooooo p%&^$£""!d off. Thought I would be riding around in landy now.:mad:
 
New break cylinders,,, was going well... for a bit.
Rear off side went really well and bled fine, then the near side... Who came up with the idea of using a brass pipe fitting in a cast aluminum wheel cylinder???
Now have to change everything from the flex hose back :doh:
 
just finished replacing the rear wheel bearing after only 6 months of it being replaced before! the arse hole at the Jeep garage hadn't put a drop of grease in there and it was rusted to fook. had to use an angle grinder to cut out the seal. will do it my self in future. My fault for taking a far superior vehicle to a Jeep garage. Jealousy is a cruel mistress
 
Having a complete engine and electrical overhaul done to my S3a. Yesterday I repainted all of the black trim, and detailed the interior.
 
Drove it for the 1st time in over a week, wow so different to being in the run around (Corsa), much prefer being in the Disco though. At least as a weekend car I can keep her mileage down...
