Yes got a welder. Good job or I would be Fooked.
Red, I'm sure that you could patch it up with some 3mm plates. Even if only temporary the repair would last a couple of years and allow you time to save your pennies for a shiny one.

Have welded it. but it isn't gonna last a couple of years. as the chassis is rotten and has been welded for at least 75% of it's lenght on both bottom rails and about 50% on both outer rails Plus several patches on the inner rails. Not including the patches that were put on today, When I bought it I had to have a new front chassis leg welded in and it's recently had a new rear crossmember. There really is very little of the original chassis left.
Think I might have to start a JustGiving page. If some Lazy Bone Idle Student can get peeps to sponsor him to rebuild his own Fender I'm sure I can do the same to buy a noo chassis.
shud have kept ya Disco. They dont rust.
Much
Well Chassis is welded.
And painted
I think there is now about 20% of the original chassis remaining. the rest has been plated over and welded. Do I need a Q Plate??
Nah we're fine. He'll never get the thing finished.Dr Evil has a plan! Oh feck we're all doomed!!!
Who let the pigeon out?
Red - it looks great. Forget about it for a couple years.......
I was only messingNot me. I was responsible for cleaning chassis, cutting patches, grinding off and painting. But I was just happy that the fooking only blew thru in a couple of places I was expecting him to be constantly having to weld extensions onto the patches
