You guys got quite a bit of snow in places ?

We took the disco out for a spin, did the charitable thing and took a stranded guy from a bus stop to his place of work.

Had a little play, found that the TC works really well if you let it work.

Quietly impressed with my purchase

Rewired all the roof lights. Sorted out the dash so that all the wires run out of sight. What do they say? Out of sight, out of mind!! :)

Had a good drive in the snow. Wasn't sure if the centre diff was locking as the warning lamp was flickering. Seemed to drive ok so I decided its a dodgy wire :)

Got home, did a search to see how to check the diff is locking. All is good with the difflock doing its thing. Must be the bulb, wires or switch.

Will wait till its not so cold to fix it...

Introduced the Freelander to deep snow on Dartmoor. Performed well in deep snow, thanks to the new VCU from Bell Engineering, a plug for them. Managed to rescue an Astra Van, which was well stuck. Bring on more snow!

Ah - i see - just for show eh :D

The snorkels on the near side are a bugger to plumb in under the heater box :D

Oh yes, I got it for free, and I think plumbing them in is a false sense of security :p If it was easier I would have probably done a quick swap job from K&N to snorkel , southdown one's are a bit more fool proof IMO, there isn't an inaccessible joint in the intake pipe

Today I'm helping my brother get his three bearing diesel engine back into his 88 hard top after full rebuild. Wants it on the road tomorrow as it's 39 years ago tomorrow it came off the production line!

I've not done anything but I've been thinking about it. It broke down on me the other night, with the engine cutting out and failing to restart. If you leave it for an hour or so it will restart and then cut out again after a minute or two. It kind of suggests fuel starvation. Looking on here at what people have done about similar symptoms, I shall start with the fuel system: the pump (Clanforbes), the filter (CharlesY) and then maybe move on to the injector seals (Buckshot) but will leave that 'til last as it's a bigger job and involves taking the rocker shaft out. Also on my list of possible culprits are the MAP, MAF and crank position sensors. They may not cause the problem in its entirety but may not be helping. I've also checked for oil contamination in the engine loom, but it's nice and dry. I changed the injector loom at the end of September anyway, and it seems to be holding out.
