Got my result for her MOT today... hand break needs adjusting, bulb replacing on the rear fogs apparently, dust cover on one of the wheel bearings or something? And my windscreen washer don't work... which is probably my fault when I took the washer bottle out to look at the turbo.... all in all not bad for a 23 year old landy :)

today I got my tired old bones under my disco 200 doosel to change the steering drop arm, so I done the steering box repair kit oil seals as well.
as the drag link was off I replaced the opposite track rod end.
well, the oil seals were a bit of a bugger, the steel based one would not come out,
I tried everything I knew, it moved but not out.
IDEA..went and got my Industrial hoover, which gave enough suction, it just lifted the oil seal out of the box.. :)
the next one was picked out with little hooks made from 0.06 stainless steel welding wire.
to put back both oil seals one at a time, I used a piece of new exhaust tube that was a tight fit in steering box,
then circlip tapped home also with my Insertion tool !

quick look round while still on blocks sees not much else needed hopefully for ASAP mot as it out.

am buying a shultz gun to blast my welding (lots of it) I done couple of years ago,
but will use a wax based covering one and will do in the box sections where i can...

tomorrow will see my very near 65 year old bones having a bloody rest...

Loaded her up and took her to the woods

My new classroom :D :D

Ooohh....nice rack & ladders beasty :D

Thanks, I like 'em......Thinking of gatting shot of me winch cause apparently I can now just push trees out the way :D

My lad reckons they're a bit shiny and wants to paint 'em dark grey to match the wheel rims which would be 'peng'.....which may or may not be a good thing :confused:

Over the course of the last 4 days, I've changed the starter motor, alternator, fan belt, all four fuel injectors and just finished changing the handbrake cable.
Nothing is ever simple, is it? I've had seized nuts, spinning nuts, lost nuts, wrong parts sent, dodgy wiring, seized brake shoes, stiff springs, squashed fingers, stuck injectors.....

Pmsl tickled me did this, it's so true, I'm off out to go try n sort my clutch master cylinder, need to alter the nuts on the thread apparently, which could very well kill my clutch off!!! Fingers crossed it doesn't😳 hope all my nuts come off all right m I don't break my nails!!😊 might even give her a wash after 👍

Had a right nice drive, did a couple of small overgrown lanes, nothing strenuous mind .. ;)

Then laid in the sun looking at it ... well, falling asleep reading a kindle .. ;)

Drove her back from the garage with another years MOT :D My battery box is rusted thru... nothing a lil welding cant solve there, and its not an MOT essential so even my **** welding will do the job. ;)

Near side rear off rigger has rot on it apparently... :( That might cost a few bob to get sorted. But for now... all is good :D

Just received some n/s track rod ends & a new thermostat. Hoping to fit them tomorrow ...dependant on hangover
