Checked oil levels with Mr. Patrol :D and discovered I'm just a paranoid fool :D but like a damned idiot I left me nuts at home so still running on road tyres

Nothing for the past few days, haven't been driving it because I am fortunate enough to have been given a company van to drive to Blaenau FFestiniog to do some outage work :) Just got to make sure when I eventually hop in it this weekend that the battery isn't flat  :D

Got the Disco back from garage last night, head skimmed and re-fitted, new water pump, thermostat, p gasket and radiator ... all seemed well until a heater matrix hose sheared. A temporary fix & re-bleeding (thankfully I still had a bootful of water from when the head gasket blew) and I managed to get home!

Well pi$$ed off at the moment & getting major earache from the Mrs to boot:mad::mad: I just hope new hose's will be an end to this head gasket saga.....

Finally fixed the rear door lock spring on my disco, so no more climbing in the back to open it... Took me 3 f**king hours though

That's what annoyed me, small spring, couple of quids worth of parts, feckin' hours to remove the old and fit the new properly, along with the requisite cut finger and blood smear .. then the passenger door went a couple of days later!

Took a trailer load of scrap today for weighing in, queue about ten pikey tipper transit vans long .. parked up, walked straight into a big fight going off ... Kept well out of it, there's prolly Youpikeytube videos of it already up!!

Drove to the front, got me scrap weighed in and buggered off sharpish ... then lashed up (pretty solidly though) a ladder rack for the front of the trailer with wingnuts and cup squares 'cos it's only temporary. I have a load of horse jumps to build for sisters farm and need some 4m lengths of 3x2 and 8x1 collecting .. ;)

Put the wifes hand-hold back instead of the computer/map tray, then she said not to bother, so put it all back again!

Dropped front drivers wheel off to check wheel bearing, all OK, rumble noise was a large (ish) rock rolling about on the top of the caliper! 'bout 2" diameter, caught up in the stone shield/brake hose area! Soon as I took the wheel off it was obvious, and almost fell out!

walked past it a few times and have not driven it since i brought it back from its welding! It shall move again soon! Really need to swap tyres over on it!!
Bloody work commitments get in the way!

Welded a patch on the rear cross member. It's only a temp repair as I'm planning on making a tubular cross member soon

Hooverd all the mud and **** out of it after its weekends hard work. Brought all the new filters for it recently, only to find the only one that was correct was the oil filter as the engine bay still had the original 19j fittings, things like the air box and fuel filter. Rather a pain, also found out I didn't have spanner big enough to take the drain plug out so could change the oil anyway. Waste of time. Largest I've got is a 27mm, and its 28, typical.

Its got 4 small holes in different places through the cores so might as well get a new one, at least I know its not going to re-occur then and as the garage is fitting it if theres any problems its on them. I don't like the idea of using radweld either

just drop an eg in there and be done with it!
