Just come back from an ickle drive down an ickle green lane ..

Muddy, quiet, overgrown, loverley ... ;)

Hopefully sorted the insurance for my Defender, waiting for a phone call back so I can pay for it

Just kicked mine for being stoopid... I've got a 400 mile round trip due in two weeks and I suspect my NSF spring has just let go... rant rant rage rave grizzle weep... etc.

Got the passenger side footwell welded after ripping out all carpets and sound proofing sponge stuff and to my suprise only finding 1 smallish hole.

replaced my break light and indicator lens. Tried to repair my snorkel and straight it up as best I could. Duct tape to the rescue!

MOT smashed for another 12 months.

Two advisers: Panhard rod bushes have play in them and the oil pressure switch washer needs replacing.

Ditto.

Advisories.....

Engine oil leak....everywhere. Rear crank oil seal and new rad cos i never used ptfe take so easy fix

Broken number plate....sorted.

Rear bearing starting to go so will sort soon.

Worst is steering. On start up really lumpy til you rev it. Baffled.

Found out, last night, that roof-bar mounted spots are brilliant ... at shining into the windscreen and front of the dash, effectively counter-acting any of their extra brightness!!

So today I is making some eyebrows, to shade the bottom of the spots and keep the light out of the cab. Maybe they shouldn't be eyebrows, but beards, as they're on the underside! ;)

Had same problem and needed same mod to fix it on my first disco, not fitted rooflights since......

how much??

Flux direct, Mods including, winch, driving lights, chequer plate, snorkle, uprated dashboard, alloys, mud terrain tyres and sound system, £1288 with 2 years NCB and I'm 19, not bad really considering my mates are paying similar for a standard corsa :D

Yeah, makes me wonder how many Discos with shed-loads of rooflights actually use them off-road at night!

I think not many ...

Also wondering about just moving the roof-bar back a bit. I think there'll be a sweet-spot where the light doesn't shine into the cab, but throws a shadow over the windscreen and bonnet, yet loses no forwards (and sideways) looking light. Might look a bit odd, but that doesn't matter to me, functionality is of much more use ;)

Have to experiment when it's dark I guess as I don't have a garage to shut the door on! I left extra length on when wiring into the engine bay so have some amount of leeway.
