after getting my disco1 doosel back from my daughter No. 1,
(long story)

I jet washed the whole undersides.

as I type I smile at the english language with the word "whole"
or is it hole.....lol

first time I`ve cleaned under it since last years MOT after extensive welding that I done.

I`m just clearing the way for my "must do list" to take place,
with my N.S.Front wheelbearing "howling" at me-please fix me!

but not today, nor tomorrow with out truley british weather
is also howling a gale with rain @ 90 degrees.....

the wind & rain has washed my concrete driveway clean now tho` so cant complain.

Changed the dashboard today, took out the crappy one, and a big Thank you to a new and somewhat shy new member, joeypica, who sent me a really nice one :D:D:D

Over the past couple of days and with a little help from my friends I've:
Tooken out the old rusty seat box
Repaired the front outrigger
Welded in a new passenger footwell (I hope the NSF wheel still works, I canna see it going round anymore...)
Fabbed a new tunnel front for me new seatbox - the TD5 seatbox is a little different from earlier ones, who'd've thunk it?
Fitted said seatbox, fitted seats (having to drill new holes as the old seat runners are different front new ones)
Re-fitted the handbrake (again, drilling new holes because...)
Now Scratchy don't look like he's been pulled out of a canal no more.

Took 'im over to Crossways and Mark's going to fit a replacement transfer box and rear prop that should get rid of the slaaaap. I wanted to do it meself but there's a laning trip at the weekend, I've still got the front suspension to do and protection/recovery stuff to get fitted and I really should do some work sometime this week to pay fer all this..

Piccies to follow, no space left on the phone at the minute.

got my new fuel tank back with alterations (guy next door took it into work and got it welded up for me)
tank2001.jpg

only had a very short filler neck so extended it with a nice screw cap he found

tank2002.jpg

the outlet pipe was way too low right on the bottom so got that 1 welded up and a larger pipe put in an inch off the bottom, and in a better place to feed the engine.

tank2003.jpg

fits perfect and still enough room to get my load box in as well ,bloody rain must have got on the phone lens

Put fity quids worth of bloody diesel in it, got to last at least two weeks though.

How many miles is that knocking about?

calculatecalculatecalculated==== 200 miles or so in my 300tdi.. hmmm

Removed trailing arms, radius arms, pan hard rod and track rod. Removed all original bushes, wire brushed and painted with POR15, now ready for new SuperPro bushes.
Removed RH hub, swivel and half shaft. Found swivel ball pitted and seal dead, top swivel bearing dead and wheel bearing tracks badly grooved. Looking at a big bill for new wheel bearings, swivel balls and bearings. I only opened up the hub to nip up the wheel bearings! Only good news is the CV joints seem OK.
Oh and brake calipers need a good clean up and looks like the pistons might be on there way out.:doh:
Just starting on the other hub now.

As a really new Landy owner, with virtually no know how whatsoever, I am feeling pretty smug at fitting new bushes to the bonnet, bye bye to one rattle two thousand, four hundred and seventy three to go!!!!!! Vent Rubbers next...:D

finished off the n/s/f dislocation cone and spring retainer

spring5001.jpg

fitted a new length of fuel pipe from tank to lift pump and had a fiddel with the lift pump to filter pipe and hye presto running smoother than a smooth thing and back to it's usual full on pull yer head off power. :D

anybody out there know how to set up a adjustable panard arm on a 90 ?
