Fitted my new extra long single fan belt.......went and pulled a couple of mates out the un-gritted valley they live in.

Nipped over the Forest to get lost again looking for Short Rounds and Syphers hidden lair and picked up Badgers doors. Sorted my cb anorl thanks to Short.....cheers fer that :D

After complete disassembly (more than once) I managed to get the winch working! The mechanism and relay were both full of muddy water leading to seizing in one of the solenoids, shorts in the motor and one end of the drum being completely seized.

But now it works!

I have spent the weekend locked indoors making my winch bumper, quite proud of it, its quite a discreet looking bumper, well, compared to some out there..

I tried starting it, realised there was no fuel getting to the injectors. Then tried pumping it with the hand pump on the lift pump, no fuel coming through, gave it another go starting it and there was sparks from around the starter motor ( according to my brother who was watching the engine bay ) and now it wont turn over as all

New pads allround , with new slider pins/springs at the front topped off with a new N/S/F caliper and fluid , due to a leak !!!!!!!!
also just installed a genuine landrover penny (was only £4 from my local main stealer ) ;)

all in about an hour !

Well chuffed :D

lifted the bonnet and put some card in front of radiator to see if i can warm the heaters up inside a bit. checked all the fuses big and small under bonnet and below steering wheel. found one of the large ones under the bonnet blown. and i think its the abs one. strange cos the abs was working yesterday!

Recharged the battery, changed the diesel fuel filter. Didn't prime the new filter, thought the engine turning over would do the trick. First flick of the switch in -12C and much to my surprise it fired up and kept running. Seems to run much nicer. No smoke, runs beautifully. Think I will change the filter more frequently. Last time I changed it was two years ago.
Suposed to warm up for the weekend which means snow coming in.

I transfered all the tools and equipment from mine back to into the truck as the snow and ice has now melted. I chucked on a new set of flat wiper blades too as the old ones were just starting tear on the edges.

I checked the tyre pressures - what a massive difference! The wallowing over bumps has completely disappeared. Amazing to think that such a great car can be had for so little cash.

Drove it 10 miles with the old clutchless gear change (fine until the little hill start) to Peter Scotts who replaced the clutch slave cylinder for me and he's back on the road. Hurrah!
