Removed Steering box, swapped over hoses to "Convertable" Steering box.
Fitted "convertable" steering box - JEESUZ _ its BLOODY heavy on ya tod .
fitted steering rods from "convertable" on to 300TDi
refilled with Dex III and run engine - "seems" not to leak.
Removed front ARB bush clamps and refitted ready for new bushes.
Checked brake pads all round.
checked Diffs, GBox & Tbox oil levels.

had a barf .

Drove mine to the local trustworthy mechanic to address the clunking noise, which is hopefully coming from the universal joint rather than the gearbox. In the meantime, I've been researching the purchase and installation of a bulkhead removal bar as I'm 17 stone and counting.

i tidied up in the back of the 90...

new straps for the ammo box that has all the recovery gear, straped the water jerry can and also the hi-lift jack..

would like to mount the hi-lift on the rear, but sticks out at the top, so it has to go inside

Drove to work in it.
This might sound like the most mundane post ever, but it's been well over a month now since I drove er to work.
Now with the newly fitted 200tdi, not sure what the fuel economy is gonna be like, I was getting 24from the sprinter, lets hope it's better:D
So far my work is holding up fine, no hot air coming out the heater, so maybe the matrix has no water in it yet? Fek knows worked with the TD in it.
Don't smoke, or does a little bit, I can see it in the lights from cars behind. Gotta change air and fuel filter, that lights help.
Don't like going in reverse, well it goes it, but makes some noise going in, maybe I need to adjust the pedal or maybe I got one air in the clutch system, new clutch bedding in still?. Dunno.
I still can't believe the difference it makes, ****ing awesome, makes you appreciate actually how primitive the TD 19j is. I am so happy I converted it, and well pleased with myself for getting it right.
Woohoo:D

Vag, I dont think it takes long for the heater to start blowing hot..

when I've been working on my 90 over the summer, I removed the heater box, to seal the snorkel properly, and also changed the rad... so it was fresh coolant and heater box empty...

and drove it around for a bit, not even 2 miles and it was blowing hot

Hi all, Just fitted new rubber door seals all round this morning. I am now waiting for the delivery company to deliver my Salisbury front axle so I can get on and get that fitted. I bet they come last thing when its pitch black and I can't do anything.

It is such a pleasure when you have to work on a Land Rover. After a quick check on here to find out how to do it. I just change the parking switch on the wiper motor in 5 minutes. I also have a Renault, it would take me most of the morning to find the switch.
A friend of mine recently bought a new Clio. He was shocked to find it cost him over £200 to change a front headlamp bulb. Apparently you can't get at it from the engine bay, you have to take the wheel arch off under the wing.

I presume I have bled the coolant system properly, I took out that bung on the rad and filled it till water came outa there. I know one of my heater box cables is broke, think it's the hot cold one, maybe I will have to get under the bonnet and manually adjust it, see if that works. Cheers jp.
I will have a look, later, thankfully it's warm atm so don't need it:D
