set up the transfer linkages after doing the clutch...had to do it twice though cos I temporarily lost high box
Initially tried fixing it with the small self tappers they supply with it, but it was ridiculously wobbly. So I drilled through the plastic dash and into the metal behind it, and fixed with nice meaty rivets. Same with the SWR meter and mic bracket, nice and solid now. Ran the cable through the bulkhead to the wingtop, 12v power taken from inside the fusebox. Nice easy job, ended up quite neat too
I fitted my rig and SWR in exactly the same place last week, live taken from fusebox too. Only thing different is that I fitted my Thunderpole to the back roof section with a mount placed just above the rear side window. The coil is just higher than the roof and SWR reading read 1.1 on ch 1 and 40
Nice, that is a very good SWR! I would have had mine on the roof, but every day I have to go in and out of a low gate that the Landy only clears by about 3 inches! I know these aerials are supposed to be flexible but that would be one hell of a limbo!
I know what you mean ... mine makes a lot of pinging sounds when going under trees so I'll see how long it lasts!

Exhaust GOT go go back on. Ran mile up road and it way too loud. Did my bolldy sweed in. New cats ordered, and found a man who will do me a straight pipe instead of centre boxJust ripped, well cut the exhaust off fron the y pipe back. juiceyv8 I see why you did it. Going put it back on though. Too much low speed shunting to park in my street
