Finished my installation of heated door mirrors. Just hope we've still got a few frosty mornings ahead of us this winter!

Yep, I know what you mean! However, they only draw 14 watts each. So that's barely a couple of amps.I keep thinking about fitting some to mine and then decide against it due to the amount of current my landy already draws off the alternator. Then the next time they ice or mist up I start wishing I had fitted em. :doh:

I followed this bloke's method - Installing Mirror Heating to a Land Rover Defender - 'twas a little bit time consuming, but worth it to keep everything neat and tidy. Unless you're really looking hard, you'd never know the mirrors have wires going to them.
I have a 98 disco auto which has immobilised itself giving the check engine light aswell,
as I have no remote or emergency code for it, does anybody know which is the best way forward, cheers.
Mine are both running through a 5A fuse. The glass doesn't get "hot" as such, but you can just about feel the increase in temperature with your hand.I thought they drew more than that? How hot does the glass get after they've been on a while?
I do fancy a pair of heated seats, but they're gonna have to wait. I recovered my original seats with Exmoor Trim kits last year which was quite an expensive exercise. The seats look great - really pleased with them, but given the cost I've got to keep them for a while!I fitted heated seats to mine back in december. I still haven't got round to wiring them up to the heated rear screen switch/relay which is currently redundant (I have a solid bulkhead behind the second row seats that prevent me seeing out the back anyway).
Exactly what I didI do like the way he's wired them up in that link but I'd be a little bit worried about feeding wires through holes in the metalwork without first fitting grommets.
