What have you done to your Landie today.

nothing today but my local indie lr garage replaced a worn pin in the difflock lever mechanism all working proper now. £ 30 inc vat. did'nt seem any point arsing about myself for that. I would give their name but i'd be accused of being the owner of Fortune 4x4 in Laindon and looking for work

Are you going to break the 110? Is it a V8 and is the front axle up for grabs?

yes and yes

picture of it going back on after new diff and bits and painting.

Why you scrapping your 110 ?

Because of my disability I cant manage the engine change that I had planned. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

I'm not getting any younger or healthier and the job is now too much for me.

the 110 is not worth much as a rolling shell so the next best thing is to sell what I can and hope that I can find the energy to unbolt the bits.

I have a 90 as well which has an engine problem and that is taking me weeks to fix instead of hours as I dont have the energy to spend the time on it.

:)

Mates finshed cutting out a fairlead in the bumper and is currently welding in extra pieces of box section to widen the whole thing.
I'm extending my PAS bottle bracket so i can fit my digger battery in.
Then its fab up a winch mount on the crossmember and wire it up along with the battery.

Busy night for us i think.

Your lucky you got a workshop, I have to make do with communial parking area......and grumpy old neighbours....... dont work too hard and long you got to be at your best for sunday.

Considered selling the 110.....

Drove my mates Range Rover classic and i think i have fallen in love :eek: Now i want one :p

Well just got home.
Winch mount is welded on, not breaking that in a hurry. Tested winch by pulling my mates fiesta along the drive with a handbrake on.
Used this flat winch rope i got at the Peterborough show. Its alright however doesn't feed left-to-right which is a bit of a pain.
Also at 110 ft its far too long. Think i'm gonna cut it in half and use the rest on the other winch when i fit it at the back.
Tomorrow mornings jobs are jet wash the front end, prep the front end for paint. Try the new anti-rust paint i got off ebay. Weld the winch bolts to the mount and modify the grill to suit. Then wire it all up, find a suitable bag to keep water away from the electrics and wire in a cut off switch in the cab.
And finally if theres enough time unscrew the eyelets from the rear bumper, cut the threads off and weld them straight to the bumper.

Saturday, weld an extension on the PAS bracket so i can fit the extra battery and run all required cabling.

Working Friday and Saturday night plus off roading all day Sunday. Looks like i've got a busy weekend ahead of me. :D
