Bled the fuel line after breaking down yesterday. Bodged the injector pump bleed screw with machine screw (almost perfect with no leaks) Engine running fast and then idle all on its own. Think it's the pump. Engine won't start now. So now just staring at it [emoji33][emoji15]

Been out laning with the Guildford crew.

I had my first run in with Mr Anorak asking do you think this is appropriate ?

Yes, yes we do.

I looked at it. Then did an oil change on the Auris and Yaris parked either side of it. I will leave the oil change on the Defender till the weekend when I will have to change the Rad and heater Matrix.

Clearly seen leaking oil into the combustion chamber.

Explains the high revs: thanks Turboman for the diagnosis.

drove her to work and back enjoying the new polybushes. just a shame my tracking is out and making it twitchy. roll on saturday when I can get it sorted. then it'll be full fluid check ready for a drive to and around cornwall for a week.
make sure you guys look out for me. Ive got my user name on a numberplate in the windscreen now so no excuses peoples :D

Stripped the front panel, rad, cowl, timing cover, pump, and rocker cover.

Fitted new chain and put most of it back together again. Rad back in tomorrow then Ill drop the oil and get it ready for the big fire up.

Say a little prayer for me tonight chaps. Lets hope the smoke has lessened.

Sorted the power steer bolt holes on the engine ( re-drilled and taped ) just need to replace the clutch assy ( mite aswell whilst its out) then start putting the engine back in, will be weekend now :)

Still sorting out after Cheviot replaced my clutch at the exorbitant cost of over £800.

Last time it was the earth strap which was attached finger tight.

This time it was the exhaust pipe to manifold that was blowing becausethey couldn't be arsed to tighten the clamp up!

They couldn't be bothered to extract the floor to tunnel screws which are self-tappers going into plastic retaining clips, so they burned holes in the floor!

I can't be arsed to complain back to them as their stock reply was that it's an old engine and an old Landy and things do go wrong ...

Errr, Mr Cheviot, can I remind you that they didn't before you got you greedy little paws on her, and I have plenty of witnesses to say that she was running as sweet as a sewing machine!

Just the clutch, and I took it there because I didn't have time to do it myself as I needed it to get down to Youkshire for an emergency care meeting about my mother.

Wrestled off my tub cappings, or what was left of them.

Replaced them with galvinised ones from YRM. Didn't take a pic of the finished article because I was so knackered.
