pulled the fuse for my wipers, to cure the burning smell.....
while I was out at B&Q got robbed for £3 for a bottle of WD40 to attack seized wipers..
one day...
ok, I must fix it....
but did clear my windscreen with a squeasy bottle of mild washing up liquid and spare wiper blade before I set off..
does that count as fixing my landie....

I have been very busy this week on my garden project..honest..

Yeah choosing a colour is difficult mate. I did contemplate painting the engine blue like the body but decided against it.
I happy with red, A suitably lairy colour for a suitably lairy engine :D

Sat in the shade on my recaro swivel chair drinking tea
And fitted new gaiters to me props and put them on the landy

Sitting on the chair was easier;):):)

picked up my new airfilter, lift pump, thermostat and valve stem caps and got as far as fitting everything except the thermostat just waiting for my wheel step up to turn up so I can show my eldest how to do it with his 'new' socket set.
played with the new lift pump before fitting it to gain a better understanding of how it works then played with the old one after removing it and found that everything moved as it should but there was no suction or pressure from the old one but loads from the new one and now managed to bleed the fuel filter and she now starts on about quarter crank.
one thing I am wondering about is the viscous fan coupling. my understanding is that the oil in it creates drag internally that drives the fan to the same revs as the engine when the unit heats up but when cold the unit allows the fan to not be driven as it's not needed. surely after a couple of hours driving and the dash showing half on the temp gauge the fan should be in full drive state and so with the engine off the fan should be near impossible to to turn by hand? or am I missing the mark?

New Lift Pump fitted tonight as my old one was leaking around the edge, and I got the Drag Link off, unseized it, fitted a new Balljoint and got it all fitted back up, now I can finally go and get my tracking set properly!

Already fitted new trackrod (complete) steering damper and adjustable Panhard Rod, and it had a new steering box and drop link a little while back.

Tomorrow I'm gonna give it a damn good clean inside and out.
