Can you remember those ammo boxes someone picked a load up of? About 2 1/2' x 1' x 1' (about!!) .. I don't use mine now, do you want it?

I found a couple of Tesco delivery boxes, very strong, very light and much easier to move about .. :)

Yes I collected a doz of em for the Southern LZer's . still got 3 of em that I dun't use..

Replaced the a frame ball joint and refurbed the whole a frame while I was as it!
Absolute bitch of a job, everything was welded to the castings none of the bolts would come undone had to grind them all. Ball joint would come out, heat and press at 12tonne required!! Arm bushes needed heat and 10tonne!!!!

All done shiny and new now with a coat of hammerite to make it last and wow what a difference it's made! She drives like a new one!!!!!!

good job:) it is one of the worst

Fettled me bumpers.

Front, just cleaned it a bit with a wire brush and Hammerited some black on .. and painted the winch hook too, it just looked so rusty in front of all that black!

Then set to to rid the rear bumper of the plastic End-Caps that constantly break and bend and to my mind are superfluous to requirements .. First I straightened the bumper so it at least looks almost straight .. it still isn't but wtf, it's close, and it'll likely only bend again, next time I'm near vertical. ;)

I then cut and ground the bumper ends flat so I could weld a plate over, wire brushed it all and hammerited it .. same both sides. Once fitted I wire brushed any other bits and hammerited them too, just to stop rust forming .. surprisingly few areas, the body cross member was great, the body mounts were forming surface rust, but nothing a quick blow over with the brush didn't cure!

Going to add a couple of reflectors when I get some, keep forgetting. I can't make my mind up whether it's better now or with end caps on, but I do know it's a tad stronger and less likely to catch.

good fix!

Cheers.

Just seemed stupid to keep buying endcaps .. I've had three fronts replaced and four rears .. even after bolting them on instead of the self-tappers they still ripped off, or bent the frame ...

Made it work for its living:)
