Yea, I made sure its upto the job before I cracked open the lid :)

Well... If it ever throws a leg out of bed, it'll look nice inside... Innit :p

Haha, nah... I cleaned off all the rough casting on the block etc and the paint is a good sealer and helps the flow of oil back to the sump, it has good insulating properties too so reduces the temps of the block and heat on external parts of the engine as also reduces the possibility of porous areas in the casting.

All pretty much irrelevant on an offroader other than maybe the oil draining back to the sump a fraction of a second quicker after I get put back on my wheels after being upside down... But every little helps and all that :)

ok.:p:D

So this is the main body of the bumper and as its for my own vehicle its suitably bulky

Drained engine oil and coolant, removed fans, removed oil filter, oil cooler pipes, oil thermostat housing, rad hoses, radiator, expansion tank, grille, front panel etc.
Removed mounting brackets for expansion tank, PSF reservoir, radiator etc. and cleaned up for painting tomorrow.
Sprayed dinitrol into holes in chassis front crossmember and prepared outside for painting.
Despit being the longest day, it was very dull in the evening when I was doing this, not ideal for pics, will try and get some of the paint and rebuild tomorrow.

Painted my tow hook and bull bars as they were looking a little rusty. Whilst I was at it I also gave the rear cross member a coat. Wish I hadn't as the rest of the landy now looks like it also needs a coat of paint.

Welded in new engine mount and gearbox crossmember and fitted engine at last. All sitting nice and level and straight.

Started a small fire inside the chassis and fixed the wee plate above gearbox crossmember.

Fitted new front o/s wing in prep for the paint job on it never again every nut and bolt seized plus my wiring loom to all the lights were a complete nest all sorted now though the rain never helped.
