What have you done to your Freelander today

Yesterday I managed to break my rear right window regulator. "No probs" says I, "I have a spare in the test mule"
So I whipped it out and popped it into the Freelander EV. Up it went, down it went, up it went, down it went, up it went, Bang it went.

Two replacement regulator repair kits (to be sure to be sure) now on order.

Drove it about pondering if the recently aquired "hum" from the back end is the diff being noisy because a) I'm in mondo mode, or b) because the fluid is low and needs changing (this weekend's job) or c) it's knackered, or possibly even d) all three.

I’ve too have recently acquired a strange ‘shhh shhh shhh’ noise, which changes speed in line with road speed.
It shouldn’t be Vcu/prop bearings as that part of the system is only 12 months old. It’s not driveshafts. Could be a bearing somewhere, but I don’t think the noise is that.

I’m currently happily day-dreaming on “Planet Freelander” that it is simply tyre noise from the last wheel rotation.

You guys are not turning your radio up high enough.

Funny, in the F1 the radio is so rubbish, and the display's never worked, that I never have it on.

With the F2, the radio is so good, I'll only know there's a problem with the car when it stops! Family can hear me coming home from work from the end of the road :D
Our old F1 was SWMBO's and I rarely drove it so I hadn't driven a F1 for several years before buying the car I converted to EV. It didn't have a radio when I got it so I had nothing to compare but the Android head unit I have seems to be pretty good however the speakers are weak so they will be updated sometime.

Hit another milestone (pun intended)

Been cannibalising parts off a hippo in our local car scrapyard... Got a new door locking mechanism to replace mine (works mostly, just doesn't unlock on the fob) and a few misc bits and pieces...

A few other land rovers there too - recommend having a look if you need parts.

If that’s your local scrapy you would be extremely disappointed with the Cumbria equivalent

Haha glad I'm not Cumbrian then 😜

These guys are a bit more then a scrappy to be fair... They have acres of land with racks of cars stacked 5 high... Feels like at least one of every single car ever produced is there - check out the sat view on Google maps, pretty impressive - https://maps.app.goo.gl/GVNf4HEWpCwtASTQ9

You can go in and take whatever parts you want from any car... Have to pay for what you take but it's far cheaper then anything online

That’s how they all used to be, before ‘online’ became a ‘thing’.
Walk in with a little tool box and get what you wanted, haggle/pay, and off you went.

As you say, how they used to be.

Back then the owner worked in the yard and you could haggle, or more likely didn't cos he wanted a reasonable price.

Nowadays, the owner wouldn't be seen dead in the place and sets a standard price list (regardless of condition) that his workers have to screw out of you.
