Had the first problem with the F2 yesterday and fixed it :D

Got in the car to go to work and pulled away. All the way there the locks were clunk clunking locked and unlocked...clunk clunk, clunk clunk..... Here we go, my initiation to F2 electrical gremlins.

When I gets to work, I notice there's a message on the dash 'Drivers Door Open'.

So once I pulled away the frikin clever car sees its moving, so locks the doors. It then thinks, oh there's a door open, unlock the doors. It then thinks, oh we're moving and the doors are unlocked, so locks the doors. But then we're moving so...

Anyway I managed to fix it by closing the door. What a ninja mechanic ;)

Road trip 399m to pick my new project up 😃
Towing a trailer with the car on for over 1/2 of it
The light just came on so not bad MPG
Never really towed much past local but I must admit what a joy the Freelander is
I was dreading it with the car on (800kg plus 1160kg car ) but loads of power at 50mph hardly a down Change
Very impressed

Looks a bit like my list 😀

It's been one of the days of all time

Fuel pressure sensor comes out. New one in. Drilled into electrical box and replaced the pins. Starts like it's not done in ages. Idles nicely. Put the hoses back and the cover on.

Pathetic DeWalt kit I use doesn't have a "this way up" indication of any kind so sockets make a leap to freedom. Still missing two.

Take it out and discover it's developed a cool feature - if I put the throttle all the way down it generates a smokescreen like James Bond's Aston Martin. Nice but not what I came for. Also doesn't want to transform revs into speed any more so I'm stuck at 40-50 giving everyone behind me black lung.

Get somewhere, read some codes. Delete some codes. Doesn't sort the power, but the long complaining parking sensor comes back to life and starts telling me how far away obstacles are.

Eh??

"Boost pressure low" thanks Hawkeye, I noticed

Hose busted on the inlet side

Hose busted on the inlet side
Not busted, just despite the insistence of my beautiful assistant it wasn't fastened at all. Opened it again and it was hovering in front of the manifold, luckily with the fastener still wrapped around it.

Tightened it up myself this time and suddenly I had turbo again

Did my first oil and filter change and I remembered to let the oil drain from the filter before I removed it completely.
I spoke too soon!!! I now have the oil light coming on when the engine is idling. From what I've read elsewhere, I'm guessing it's the pressure switch in the filter housing. If it is, how on earth do you change that?

I replaced the two boost hoses from intercooler to throttle body. They seemed to be fine, I'm hoping to find the boost hose from turbo to be broken as it would explain at least some of the symptoms my TD4 is having. I'll have time to replace it on Wednesday, hoping it will be a lot easier than today...

Wiper fluid low warning appeared on the dash. Will book it into the garage to get them to read the codes to find out whats wrong with it.
You'll need a 50 page thread to compare live data with.

Testing with different density of detergents and temperature of fluids.

Of course, even when we are all settled on the correct densities and temperatures, noobs will still come along and say its all b*****ks, and weirdos will still threaten to take the chief constable to court over it.
