Good luck Nodge I've no doubt your car will be ready with your expertise knowlage my car has passed again all be it was running fine untill I got back from garage was running lumpy after mot was running great when put in, on inspection of a missfire noticed they had unsecured air filter box clearly fiddling about to try sell me a service but didn't re secure clips on filterbox and sucking in massive amounts of air and dislodged hose wish they would just leave things as they are wish you luck for your mot
 
No car at the mo' Failed its WoF [MOT] on a noisey Rear wheel bearing. The w'shop tried to dismantle the hub but the driveshaft splines are pretty well seized... That was before Christmas. Back again and they pulled the drive shaft and hub assembly off and sent it to an engineering shop to 'press' out the drive shaft. Hopefully on the road early this coming week as long as nothing breaks in the press!

Hope they get it fixed.

If you need anything (like the whole hub & axle) let me know I can maybe take it off the parts car - would probably need the broke bit though so that its still mobile!

Its a 2001, the brakes will be different - dunno about anything else.

We had a duel fuel curtesy car last summer when the wife's Eos was in for repair. When looking for LPG, we found every local garage that used to sell it had stopped. The LPG pumps were mostly being replaced with extra petrol pumps, as petrol seems to be the new diesel! In the end we had to do a longer day trip to a garage in the next county which definitely had LPG. It was nice filling the tank for £20, but the downside was when on LPG it was slower (it was slow to start with) and the LPG got used up faster than petrol would have for the same distance.
It's still a cheaper fuel though, if the engine will work on LPG, which some won't, at least not for long.

Yes, true. I had a R19 years back with LPG. It was really good, could travel for next to nothing. Got stolen in Lewisham. Neighbour there talked to the thieves and they told him I wouldn't have paid the road tax. It was a German reg.o_O. It was a 1.9l at 90 hp, could have lasted forever that engine.

That's a very kind offer - I'd guess that if the hub housing breaks then it probably couldn't be refitted. I think there is one at Hunt's in Ashburton. :)

5 tblsp's of freshly squeezed lime juice, same amount of coconut cream, equal amount raw, unheated honey, 1-2 tblsp's of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 tblsp of raw dairy cream and 1-2 tblsp's of raw, unsalted butter mixed together, poured into 3-4 ounces of natural sparkling water (San Pellegrino, etc.), steered gently and sipped over ten minutes is a natural antibiotic as someone put it, but only every 3-4 days as can be harsh on digestive tract. I'll have one tonight.;-)
 
Well I have to report that I obtained my MOT today following the fitting of a new lower arm. However, have the advisory of cloudy headlights to sort. Just need to get the gaurds off! - bloody screws are just turning.

There seems to be a number of regularly posting members who have their tests due in Feb. MOT friends!
 
Replaced the alternator belt, what a pain in the arse that was. Whoever designed the engine bay and thought that mounting the engine with 2" between the belt pulleys and inner wing was a good idea deserves to be fisted by a gorilla wearing boxing gloves! :mad:
 
So this week has been a big week for my TD4. Ten years ago today I picked it up from the dealer, The mileage that day was 70952. Today, exactly ten years on the mileage reached 170912. Only 40 miles short of doing exactly 100,000 in those ten years.
 
Completely off piste
As anyone had a simple brake light switch do the following
Put the EML on stop the reverse light work come up with MAF and glow plugs codes ?
It happened to me today on a none Land Rover

This is why as the years are creeping up I am slowly but surely turning in to a grumpy old git ! things I can’t understand no longer interest me but upset and confused instead
Next time it’s going to a garage!!
