Feel for you - i changed my tyres and got rid of the awful noise they made.
Also changed the shock absorbers and ARB bushes and got better handling

Now i can hear all sorts of odd noises coming from the suspension that i never knew existed.............

Just painted the coloured panels on the rear bumper of my Td4.
next comes the clearcoat before trying to fix them back to the main bumper with the stupid plastic tabs that are melted in order to fix the piece.

I find whenever you fix one noise, it always reveals a load more to take its place. Eventually all will be quite, after ever decreasing returns on the time and effort.
I'm going to be taking the rear bumper off this coming weekend to fit some reverse sensors.

You guys aren't turning the radio up loud enough. :p That's what I keep telling the missus to do when she winges about the noise in ours.
I should have got my other one out of the garage by now so I can sort it but between adding to the work, finding the clutch master cylinder is dodgy and work/family stuff I just haven't had time.
Maybe this week. :)

I fitted a new radio Saturday, many off my little noises have disappeared.

still have an annoying vibration/ noise at about 1200 to 1500 rpm, not sure if its exhaust internals or something loose at the back of the engine.

any ideas??????

Exhaust I expect. I have an exhaust vibration at idle when cold. And a slightly less loud vibration at about the same revs as you.
You have to take into consideration that as the exhaust rusts, it gets more prone to vibrating.

Had a cracking noise whenever I turned left. Been like it for ages. Thought it was the wishbone ball joint. Decided to do something about it and found out it was the drop link sheared clean in half. Bloody hell !! I could only imagine what could of happened if it when through the tyre at speed.

Fit a sub-woofer?

Dropped it off at the local gearbox guru last night. Got a phone call to confirm it's the solenoids that are causing the issues with the auto box so they are to be swapped out. Happy days [if not a bit lighter in the wallet].

I done nothing apart from taking it to the workshop to have the wheels powder coated.

Hit a deer. Had to replace my headlight casing as it broke the mounts and smashed the turning deflector. No other damage though, and I picked up the new casing at a near by wrecker for under $200 CAD.

Next up, replacing both rear window regulators this weekend.

Nice seats, just wondering though, do the the smelly feet and turtle make it go faster. I take it you use the car for racing so these things are important. Also spotted some unnecessary ballast in the dash, getting rid of that would shave tenths off your times. :p

nice! but a tyre for a back seat :D:D:D:D:eek:[/QUOTE]

It lives inside the car as there's no carrier on the tailgate - there's plenty of room for it , and more besides !

All essential bits of off road racing kit, honest !

Upgraded crankcase blower filter and found it to have original filter still fitted (cars done 150000 miles!)Had a poke about and found its never had any filters except oil one done. Turbo vent filter melted onto back of engine. Nice getting to know a new car !

Have you tried the cable kits available for £7 on eBay? Much cheaper than replacing the whole lot and very easy to do.
