Finally got round to fitting my new rear brake drums and all 4 x 30mm spacers..
Sits a little wider and feels so much more secure on the road..
Very happy,,:D
Ready for some soft roading soon if I can convince the wife..

Looks good m'man...but stop curbing the wheels and scuffing those rims :D

Unfortunately it was like that when I got it,,
maybe one day I will sort them,,then again..

Yeah, I know what you mean...there are always more pressing issues to deal with when you're a Freelander owner! Curiously enough, however, your drum brake renovation strikes a chord as no matter how much I 'bull up' Gladys, her shabby looking rear drums nonetheless keep drawing my eye and annoying me! :)

Replaced the drivers door window regulator...£194.00 for the privilege of owing a vehicle with a green oval emblem on it. No wonder Daihatsu FourTrak drivers are known as the 'die-laughing' brigade...it obvious has as much to do with part prices as it does with by-passing sundry banjaxed Land Rover pilots on the sticky stuff!

£194 for a regulator?

Technically, I'm not doing the work, but Millennium Range Rover are servicing the car.

Yesterday though, I had the car washed outside and I polished it with Autoglym super resin polish and then some extra gloss protection. Then the black bits with vinyl & rubber care.

Looks stunning now.

Only the carpets left to clean.

Fitted my oe Ebay sumpguard on to replace the fresh air it came with !

Also put on some one piece wiper blades that seem to work well - were left over from Hyundai Coupe but perfect fit :)

Contemplated the cambelt/waterpump change I should get on with.........

Worryingly the hippo continues to be my most reliable and economical LR to date .

£58 delivered ......... cheaper than a Diahatsoo ?[/QUOTE]

Listen, I know green ovalies are basically driving the poor mans Daihatsu, but that's no excuse for getting the I & A the wrong way round whilst trying to make a funny out of the name.
Just accept the fact that you're a lesser being whilst ensconced behind the wheel of your 'green oval' conveyance and pay suitable homage to any FourTrak Daihatsus that you might encounter henceforth as recompense for your totally disrespectful attitude.:p

Looked under sumpguard to see if it was containing oil leak.........so far so good !

Look if they cannot even spell Fortrack right what chance do they /we have with Diehatsue ? (sp?) ;) Besides the only thing a Diahatsoo does quicker than a Hippo is rust :p

Right proper ATF in gearbox and done at correct temps.... if this doesn't cure it then I'm going to be calling on the compnay that rebuilt it last year!!!

Been down the scrap yard today , replacement steering wheel, dash light bulbs , most importantly a working coolant gauge temp sensor . and SRS ring behind the steering wheel to put the SRS light out. All good so far , scrap yard had some gen mudflaps not sure if they suit it though ?

Ted had hid 120k service (@123k ahem), feels a bit like a different car. Everything feels that bit tighter, newer or just nicer. Thanks guys at Autoservice Stanley. Needed front rear diff mount bush, o/s track rod end & front brake pads(WHAT I only changed them 13k ago to Mintex-that's about as long as they last, TD4 auto is a bit heavy on them). Came to £310 which I thought reasonable. It's nice to turn fan on a smell fresh filter instead of old engine smell!
