I told the wife today and she agrees its a good idea..

Phew!!!
That's one lot of explaining I wont have to do.

Once I have them fitted I will just wait till something goes wrong
to spend some time on it,,
the Freelander is as we want it now..

Off roading is the next thing to convince the wife we should do..
Well some light green laning anyway..

Yours is clearly easier to convince than mine!

Try the "lets go camping for the weekend, we can get everything we need in the car, and go somewhere really different"
Or the "we can go for a drive and see places you can only get to in a land rover, or have to walk miles to get to"

Or just chuck her in the car, and just dont tell her where youre going!

Went out for a drive. stopped to have a cuppa.the TD4 won't start no matter how many times I tried. ok don't panic I said to myself.opened the bonnet to check diesel flow. no flow from no1 injector. tapped the fuel pump in tank from underneath.nothing doing.tapped under bonnet LP pump.nothing. tapped the fuel filter a few times and the TD4 started, went home. The next day I changed the fuel filter and had no problems at all so far.

I can see four hoses in your pics. Are there a couple more or did you buy individual ones? The reason I sakis that all the kits I've looked at either have two (if there's no sensor), three or six! I'm looking to do mine so could you recommend a supplier?

Gareth Soloman @ DerbyPerformanceHose

They give fantastic service and if like me the money
wasn't available right off, you can order it in 3 lots like I have..

1st..Air Inlet Hose first (with Clamps)
2nd..Inter-cooler kit to fit models without sensor (with Clamps)
3rd..Inter-cooler to Turbo hose (with Clamps)

This one has 5 pipes but it only because it is for the model with
the sensor on it..you can chose the same with 4 for none sensor models
Freelander TD4 Full Intercooler, Turbo, Air Intake Kit

Have a look here and all will become clear..

You havent posted a pic of the big mirror you've got fixed to the rollcage for your makeup? ;)

On the other hand, i've re-tightened my spacers today, as somehow the NSF one was working its way loose and was getting one hell of a knocking sound and a pretty bad vibration too like a wheel wasnt balanced but worse...was lucky really!

My bonnet is so shiny and i don't need a mirror :cool2:

Use loctite to spacers ;)

Mine's covered in mud now :D

I think its because of the copper grease which was on the hub studs from the original nuts before the spacers went on, and that i maybe didnt have the torque set high enough.

I used loctite between spacer and hub, as per instructions. :)

What one should be used when fitting spacers???
Loctite 242 Blue
Loctite 243
Loctite QuickStix 248 Blue

Fitted bearmach EGR bypass (very nice fit), cleaned out inlet manifold, fitted BMW breather part (stealer tried to knobble me for £36 WTF ) fitted new mahle fuel filter and what a bastard that turned out to be after the filter housing tray fell apart due to short rivets being used at manufacture and one of the bolts was rusted to it with a rounded head so I had to take the mounting bracket off the car to remove it. Although as the metal brackets were rusty and it fell apart I cleaned them up and gave them some black hammerite before reassembling the tray with proper sized rivets and new mounting bolts with anti seize and a good spray of grease over the heads. Good handywork.

Also, something I did during all of this (I think the fuel filter) has completely cured the rough cold starts that sound like a bag of spanners with a big puff of stinking white smoke. Result
