What have you done to your Freelander today

Today a made a 160 mile round trip to collect a low mileage electric moped. :eek:

The here it was all loaded up in my Erde 142 trailer, which I modified for the purpose.

The Freelander averaged over 50 MPG on the outward journey, with an empty trailer and a tail wind, and still managed 40 MPG on the home trip.

I also had to stop 3 times to top up the coolant, so it's loosing it somehow. I suspect that the thermostat has failed, as putting the heater on hot reduced the coolant loss, suggesting that coolant isn't getting to the radiator fast enough.
Investigations will need to be carried out.
 
Today I found out that the dude that's got a long term loan of my freelander didn't take it for tracking as I instructed him to do, and instead ran it, and scrubbed the front mud tyres down to slicks, then switched over to my alternative wheels with all terrains on them. words were had, and he's going to replace the front tyres, but still :mad:
 
After a deep clean on Sunday, replaced a blown brake light, and new wipers on. Earlier today I took it in for the MOT, and it passed with no advisories. :):)

Next year she'll be 20 years old, which is an achievement. But I dread to think how seized some of those fixings are getting.
 
Engine oil and filter changed, also new cabin filter. Since I bought this FL1 TD4 little under 2 years ago, it has been driven 8000 kms and done 4 oil+filter changes.
 
Today I tried to fix the issue with my passenger speaker and tweeter not working, gave up in the end. I figured out it is the wiring and not the actual speakers and now don't know what to do as I'm not the best when it comes to wiring.
 
In the past few weeks, I've fitted 4 new tyres, had a 4WD alignment carried out, replaced one wheel bearing and replaced one of these tiny front sidelights.

Today it passed its MOT with one minor defect and two advisories.
Minor defect:
Front nearside driveshaft CV boot damaged. Now this is annoying as that is the wheel that had the new bearing fitted. I'll be having words with the garage that did that.
Advisories:
1) Minor corrosion on some underside components but not seriously weakened. (No shit Sherlock! The car's 15 years old, lives outside on the coast and has driven over 210k miles.)
2) Slight misting of oil offside rear shock (IMHO this is old oil from the last shock failure)
