Could be worse, I know of two idiots talking about doing an EV conversion!

Reading that thread is an education. I've gone from "that'll be a doddle" to "oh, there's a fair bit more to this than I realised". I haven't quite got to the point where I truly understand the true extent of my shear lack of knowledge and ignorance - but that is generally when you are in the foot hills of the north face of the Eiger-shaped learning curve that one would need to climb to complete one of these conversions.

A 1.8T conversion? That'll be a doddle. Oh, no, wait...

The last guy that did a 1.8T conversion ended up installing an aftermarket ecu and dash IIRC. Not a cheap option so maybe the work Nodge and I are doing will help with a conversion like this too.

It's quite involved with the integration of the other modules, but I'm sure it's not impossible.

I don't believe that conversion is a difficult as it has been made in the past. I looked into doing a VVC conversion a while back, and I reckon a slave ECU would be the way forward. However I changed my mind, so didn't look in to it and further.

That's not the way I'd have done it myself.

Nor me. If I can't do this and make the dash work as normal or at least all the major components I won't be going any further but I believe it can be done and am determined to make it work.

I'm sure it isn't simple, and I am watching how LRO magazine do it, but a chap local to me reckons he did one by using the 1.8T ecu and engine loom and isolating the freelander immob from the ecu. This could probs be done properly with pscan's support.

Filled up after a run to Berkshire and back (from Devon) - 38mpg - TD4 Auto 175k miles.
Happy for now !
38mpg - NICE! :)

Scotty McScrooge disappears off into a shadowy corner muttering something about rolling resistance of offroad tyres and larger rolling diameter screwing with his odometer gimping his MPG figures

Fitted my soft top. Just in time for summer. Except it’s piddling down of course
I'm sure it looks good.... But I'd know better if you posted a picture of it :D

Here’s my pic

Not done anything to my Facelift TD4 SE auto for ages.

But this morning I won this for £2k on an Ebay auction.

I'm kinda expecting the seller to tell me it's not for sale, or it's broken or something, as it was what I'd describe as very cheap, although it does have a misfire, which may or may not be serious.
