What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted some new cables to my window mechanism! It finally goes up and down again!
Fitted a fast plug to my subwoofer so I can take it out with ease.
And did some more wiring for my rear work light , just need to get a relay and then done :)
 
fitted new back box, new wires OSF window, Williams waterless wash, back to black bumpers and trim, cleaned and vacuumed interior, fitted strut to cylinder brake pipe and new shoes OSR brake, to do tomorrow, brake pipe from ABS box to OSR flexy junction, New shoes NSR brake.;)
 
I topped up the coolant. Again.

Thats about 1.5 litres since the end of December. It's a TD4 so no head gasket problems. I did have the clutch done when I bought it and he mentioned the IRD hoses.

The expansion tank doesn't have any cracks and the cap is good.
 
Took my old 1.8 through the MOT today...oh dear

Confirmed i did indeed knacker the cat on a rock during a recent off road extravaganza, as it failed the emissions test. Some other bits an bobs as well on the steering. But nothing drastic i suppose seeing as she is so ancient the manual is written in hieroglyphics.
 
Drive to Greenwich, now stuck on the closed m25.... Been stationary with car running for over an hour, and this is my temperature? Would have thought it would be higher! Thermostat stuck open? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1426441064.373157.jpg
 
New rear brake drums, cables, shoes with springs ect, handbrake works great on 4 clicks now :D reason for doing was that when braking I was getting bad judder, if you applied the handbrake on one click the car would judder violently at the back that as now gone but I am still getting some judder on braking from 50 mph down to stopping.

Looks like I need to investigate more maybe VCU all rear mounts changed :(

Not sure how the VCU could give judder under braking - but hey, stranger things have happened :)
 
nearly set the bloody thing on fire, trying to bleed the unbleedable clutch hydraulics....

Ended up making the hydraulics from my Rover 45 that I'm trying to sell, fit - kinda immobilising the poor Rover :(
 
Got my old hippo through the MOT today!!...whayyy!

New Cat/middle section/x2 track rod ends/x2 droplinks/x1 Drivers seatbelt (wtf?). Emissions great now, and she actually seems to like the cat and un stuffed middle box.

I fitted the droplinks/new belt, but not the track rods/cat/exhaust (Needed a spell on the Hunter tracker/O2 sniffer)

Drives nicer as well with the new track rods and drops. A lot more solid on the road. And i never noticed they were all stuffed. Must be loosing it.

Thousands of Penguins died when i bust the Cat, but none were harmed in the new production!.. :)
 
Removed the head to get at a burnt exhaust valve on cylinder 2, stripped two head bolts taking it off and sat for about 20 minutes between sheer terror and abandoning all hope.

Managed in the end by tapping a smaller torx socket onto them and taking them off that way after replacing my browned trousers.

Watch those liners as the Hat Man says...he is a man with a 50 Cal pellet gun...and knows how to use it.

treated her to 4 new tyres, only a cheaper version of AT tyres but after a hefty alternator bill it was all i could afford for time being.
Next job will be a service, but im hoping to do this myself.

What make did you get Colinco?...are they any good/quiet etc?

there event ML 698 tyres
cheap, £266 for all four, feel ok, handled better on my way home than the slicks that was previously on there lol
as for road noise, it sounds like some ones blowing across the top of a bottle, im sure after a while i wont notice it, but at the moment its a novelty in trying to change the pitch at different speeds :)
As for off road performance, well i havent a rear prop just yet so i have no idea, but they look good :p
