I painted my speaker grilles, heater vents, and glasses holder cuz I hate that teal as well!
The glasses holder on the roof is the one bit I haven't done yet as I couldn't figure out how to get it out with pulling all the roof lining down!
Undid the two visible screws, and took the oval clip bit from the middle, but didn't wanna budge. Anything I'm missing?
Been to lidls and then used my dremel......
Not sure of its accuracy tho...... It's flipping hot but I don't think that it is quite that hot.
Painted the tweeter speaker covers black as they were going rusty
Also done a bit of this...
Oooh carbon everywhere. looks good though.
Can I have the 3p please
Mike
Took advantage of the missus being out and finally got round to looking at my Freelander after it broke down a few weeks ago......
Took the head off. Wrong tools for the job but got there in the end. Going to have a good bruise on my elbow from my ratchet slipping so many times! Pistons undamaged and valves seem straight. I shall asses the damage to the head a bit more and see whether it's better to put a new head on or price up some cam followers etc
For ease I should think its better to put a new head on but I quite fancy stripping it down
The valves will have damaged stems. Followers take some serious impacts to smash them like that. If the stems are damaged so will the guides. Best find a replacement head, be cheaper and easier in the long run.
