What have you done to your Freelander today

Just checked all the connections on everything I can think of on the engine and the one on the fuel pump. I'd love to get to the bottom of this spluttering and stalling the happened today.

Just fitted the rest of my new pathfinder tyres (tyre machine, best tool I ever bought!) And replaced the wing mirror that the P.O had bodged on with duct tape. Looking loads better!

Just finished installing driving lamps on the front bumper. Direct power to the battery, wire through the bulkhead (found the post about there being an opening that is meant for manuals, since this is auto,.....nice passage through the bulkhead, big THANKS to the poster that discovered this!), lighted switch on the side of the centre console, and PRESTO! "Let it be light!"

Driving lamps came stock on the Jeep  long gone (don't tell anyone!), and were collecting dust in the barn. Recycling at its finest.

Well, good news and bad news.

The good news is that i now knows which belt tensioner that had a strange noise, the bad news is that the alternator belt snapped, got lodged onto the timing belt causing it to slip a tooth or four = valve says hello to the piston..

Was on my way to a friends house to change rear diff oil, gear oil, IRD Oil and engine oil.. The old girl must have sensed that she was going to get pampered and decided to break down 200M from my friends garage..

Still changed IRD/Geat/Diff oil, now ordering spares.. She also got new exhaust mounts and fixed all the rattling heat shields, two of them.

Need both the tensioners. Found one here.

Although the head gasket have been changed not that long ago, I'm changing everything just for peace of mind, inc. new waterpump, dowels etc.

Found this kit on ebay.

Just need to find the dowels and the other tensioner.

My old man have a R400 somewhere wich the engine is OK, I'll be using the head of that one. Come to think of it, is that even possible? I think it has a cap and rotor, and the Expensivelander have coil packs, are the heads interchangeable?

Just beat my record getting up the drive thanks to the new 80 profile tyres and a tweak to the rover ron box. 78 mph according to the gps

All K series heads are essentially the same. The Freelander K has a cover plate over the area where the cap would be. You should be able to mix and match what you need.

got the freelander back from the garage after having the core plugs replaced to find coolant pouring out from the water pump so new pump ordered just waiting for it to turn up then quick service and in for MOT

Been playing with both my hippos! In the last few days I have ....

Removed the front bumpers from both, painted the lower of the Rioja red one satin black and bolted it onto my kinversand along with the bull bar, spot lights and fog lights, put in the aux switch panel (but not wired it yet.)

Washed and polished the Rioja, stripped the carpet out and pressure washed, cleaned loads of plastic trim, put the boot carpet from the kinversand in. Cleaned the seats, removed the towbar. And roof bars. Swapped the 16inch wheels for a full set of matching tyre 15 inch wheels.

Put the boot carpet from the Rioja into the kinversand.

Tomorrow the rest of the carpet swap will happen, the towbar from the Rioja will replace the one on the kinversand.
