Yes - it is very practical.
I was fed up with having to touch-in chips on the bonnet edge on my previous Freeelander and researched spoilers quite a bit before choosing the Australian made EGR one.
I doubt it would deflect kangaroos or wombats
but it's extremely effective against flies and the other crud that used to hit the windscreen.
They even help in light rain if your travelling above 50mph, and especially useful in snow at any speed.
On the first long journey (200miles +) we made after we fitted the spoiler, Mrs Singvogel actually commented on the lack of flies that day. Then we stopped, got out, and were surprised to see the roof-box which was plastered with them!
It's had a few hard whacks and so far only a few marks on it.
Light surface scratches just polish off - as they do from the clear ABS EGR headlight protectors which I'm also very happy with.
EGR supplied the original light protectors for the early style Freelanders, but for some reason LR didn't continue with them for the different shaped lights on the facelift models.
