Fitted it's winter boots. Takes some getting use to the skinny looking wheels but they should be ok for winter and mud :)

I thought that with a 40mm lift you didn't need to do any extra modifications.

Sounds like I'm wrong.

I'm planning on fitting one of his kits shortly, so will attempt to do a pictorial guide at the same time.

Same here.

Trim removal is a doddle..... In the boot, remove the plastic strip across the back of the boot, under a closed door, 6x torq screws then both side pods which is 1 self tapper, 4 quarter turn fasteners and a couple of clips.
Under the bonnet, the fuse box needs removing including a number of plugs and what I believe as the aircon/cabin temperature control box including 2 or 3 plugs. On the drivers side the coolant header tank needs moving aside

I still believe you don't with 40mm, but 50mm+ you certainly do! Camber bolts could be an idea though..

Nice tyres above!

I think on some vehicles you get away without trimming a few mm off the inner, I literally took out 3-5mm so the steering rods clear with the suspension fully down, prob won't need doing unless you plan straddling ruts, bouncing through large pot holes off road when it might bottom out and lock up your suspension

I didn't fancy dropping the rear brakes and hub, save on bleeding brakes afterwards. Yeah I filed down the front inner wing about 3-5mm to allow the tracking adjustment nut to clear when suspension fully hung down.
Not got that tracking done yet....will be done shortly before any serious mileage. JC600 did you bother with camber pins or get near enough just by being tracked?

Yeah, I fitted camber bolts, aligned by eye....then took it to get full alignment and tracking done. :)

Yep, nothing new there- just threads asking about lift kits, then degrading into the usual 'witty' comments about getting a Disco, burning it, scrapping it etc etc... not much help really... ;)

So, JC600, if you know of a pictorial, then please let me know and I'll send you an online virtual bottle of moonshine... :5bcheers2:

Muddy oval seems to of closed down, I'll see if I can find an archived file. :)

I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
Is there a good guide on lift kits/camber bolts etc. somewhere?

And yes, I know how the search button works. I'm not into jigsaw puzzles though.

Thanks :)

No worries, I'll have a look some point. Need to upgrade my speakers so would have some ready at the same time if they came off together!
